Routes Home Fund, powered by Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity, working in partnership with The Charity Service and the Booth Centre. Funding decisions made by people with first-hand experience of homelessness and those accessing homelessness
services. Together, resources and decision-making are being put in the hands of the people and communities who understand what is needed to prevent and tackle homelessness.
The programme will provide grant funding of £12,500 for a 12 month period to registered charities, CIC’s and constituted community groups who have been registered or active for at least 3 years, with a track record of providing services and/or activities that tackle homelessness within the Greater Manchester area and have an annual expenditure no more than £1m.
Priorities identified by the Grant Committee include:
- Safe Accommodation
- No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF)
- Growing a community of people accessing services – reducing social isolation and empowering people who attend
All applications will be reviewed by the Grants Manager at The Charity Service who will also complete due diligence checks on all organisations applying for grant funding. On completion of these checks applications will be reviewed and decisions made by a Grant Committee made up of people with lived experience of homelessness and/or experience of accessing homeless services. The committee will meet on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th December.
Support will be focussed on organisations that:
- Are embedded within the local community
- Encourage community participation and volunteering
- Have been registered or active for a period of at least 3 years
- Have a track record of delivery
- Have an annual expenditure of no more than £1m
