The Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance are inviting VCFSE organisations from across Greater Manchester to join a joint summit bringing together the Cancer Alliance and VCFSE partners.
This is a chance to build stronger relationships, share ideas and experience, celebrate impact, and work together to shape how we improve cancer outcomes in our communities in the future.
The event is open to all VCFSE organisations, not just those already working in cancer.
Why attend?
This summit is practical, interactive, and focused on working better together. By attending, organisations will:
- Help shape how we work in neighbourhoods to improve cancer awareness, prevention and early diagnosis, and how cancer support is built into community activity
- Share experiences and ideas to help design better and fairer ways of working together
- Learn simple, practical ways to improve the reach of their work using communication and social media
- Meet other VCFSE organisations across Greater Manchester, build relationships, and explore new ways to work together
What to expect on the day
The summit will be interactive, with short presentations, table discussions, and time to network.
You will hear about:
- The Cancer Alliance, current challenges, and how the VCFSE sector can help shape solutions
- Practical tips to improve reach and engagement using social media from colleagues at the Cancer Alliance
You will take part in three table discussions, focused on:
- How to work together in neighbourhoods to improve cancer awareness, prevention, early diagnosis and supporting patients with cancer.
- How to work better together, and what you as organisations need to work more closely with the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance and feel valued
- How to improve the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance communications and campaigns so messages reach communities more effectively and are easy for VCFSE organisations to use
The Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance will also take time to celebrate the impact and achievements of the VCFSE sector.
There will be plenty of time for networking during the day.
