NHS GM Leadership for Inclusion Session: Positive action in practice

Date & time: 10 February 2026, 12:00pm - 1:30pm
Venue
Online

This session explores positive action – a lawful and strategic approach to advancing equality under the Equality Act 2010. It’s part of the ongoing Leadership for Inclusion series, supporting leaders across Greater Manchester to create inclusive environments through evidence-based, proportionate action.

Positive action is not about preferential treatment. It’s about removing barriers, addressing disadvantage, and increasing participation for underrepresented groups in a fair, transparent, and legally sound way. When applied effectively, it strengthens both workforce culture and service delivery.

The webinar will explore how leaders can confidently and lawfully apply positive action across their organisations' and communities covering legal foundations, practical examples, and why this work matters.

Session highlights:

  • Legal clarity on what positive action is and what it isn’t
  • Leadership strategies for embedding inclusion in workforce and service delivery
  • Community partnership approaches that drive real, sustainable change
  • Practical tools and insights to support confident, compliant implementation
