Description of the opportunity:

 

Community Revival, based in Chorlton, exists to refresh and revitalise communities through building capacity and confidence. Through our courses and projects, we encourage, inspire and instruct people, helping them to achieve a better quality of life. We exist to support people in education, training and employment, giving them the skills and knowledge they need to be happy, active members of their community. 

 

We are looking for a volunteer who can support us in planning a funding strategy, identify funding sources and compose funding bids to help us raise funds to support hard-to-reach people in the local community to engage with education, employment and improve their well-being.

 

Main Duties:

  • Searching community needs and gaps in the grass-root level learning
  • Must be able to review and plan a funding strategy for Community Revival
  • To identify sources of funding
  • Tabulate sources regarding priorities for funds through downloading applications and writing applications etc.

Ideally, you’ll need:

  • To understand local Greater Manchester Combined Authority priorities.
  • To research and gather demographic information in relation to unemployment and deprivation of BME communities within Greater Manchester
  • The opportunity to assess local needs of BME communities who are facing challenges
  • To come up with new ideas and proposals that will get some funds to plan  and deliver activities
  • Writing bids or proposals to raise income levels to deliver intended activities

 

Skills & Requirements

  • Must have knowledge of community needs
  • Ability to write proposals for funding- good written skills
  • Ability to organise and collate information into an existing bid and/or proposal format
  • Ability to develop to plan and organise information about running of the successful project

 

How will we support you 

  • You can flexibly work different times and days with some face-to-face meetings schedule
  • We prefer that you work in our office but it is not essential
  • We will offer support and an induction, including covering health and safety and safeguarding in the workplace.
  • Volunteers will be provided with resources and introductory meetings to set the scene for the role
  • We offer travel expenses
