Who we are:

We provide advocacy and involvement services so that people are heard in decisions about their health, care and well-being. We’ve been supporting people to be heard in decisions about their health, care and wellbeing for over 40 years. We’re an independent charity and one of the UK’s largest providers of advocacy and involvement services.

Who are we looking for? 

  • Good communication skills – written and verbal 
  • An interest in your community and helping people to have a voice 
  • A basic knowledge of IT, emails  
  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise workload 
  • Ability to work independently & as part of a team 
  • A commitment to the aims and ethos of VoiceAbility 

 

What would volunteers be doing?

Community Champions are involved in: 

  • Making community connections 
  • Visiting Community Groups and doing talks about our services 
  • Distributing leaflets and posters across the community 
  • Sharing contact info and doing research in the community 
  • signposting clients to our Helpline  
  • Arranging venues and sites for promotional work 
  • Building working relationships with Team staff and other volunteers
