Who we are:

At We Hold a Hand, we are focused on connecting Africans and Caribbeans with professional therapists. Our mission is to raise mental health awareness and provide culturally relevant mental health support to the African and Caribbean communities worldwide. We are looking for passionate volunteers to help us in various areas of our platform, including our mental health awareness events. Join us in breaking barriers and promoting mental well-being in the African and Caribbean communities. Together, we can make a difference!

What are we looking for?

Qualifications:

  • Passion for mental health awareness and community support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous volunteer or event planning experience is a plus, but not required.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to promote mental health awareness and provide accessible therapy services. You will assist in various areas of the platform, including event organisation, marketing, community outreach, and administrative tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, make a positive impact, and be part of a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities to pick from:

Event Support:

  • Assist in planning, organising, and executing mental health awareness events.
  • Help with event setup, registration, and coordination.
  • Engage with attendees and provide information about our services.

Community Engagement:

  • Reach out to community organisations, schools, and businesses to build partnerships.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health.

Location: Fully Remote / Onsite: Suite 2b,6th Floor St James House, M6 5FW

Commitment: Flexible hours, with a minimum of 5 hours per week
