Description of the opportunity:

Who we are:

We provide simple, vegetarian, nourishing hot food and emergency food parcels to those most in need in Manchester, Salford, Trafford and some other areas of Greater Manchester. We do this without any questions or judgment and our services are free of charge. We operate 7 days a week, between the hours of 8am and 9pm. Our services are available to individuals, NHS Care Navigators, Agencies supporting the homeless, Asylum Seekers, Housing Associations, those supporting offenders, Citizens’ Advice Bureaux, churches, food banks and many, many more.

What would you be doing as a volunteer:

Each dry bag driver will take about 5 dry food bags from us at a time, to store at home. Then, if someone needs an emergency food bag during the week, the admins will contact a nearby dry bag driver to see if they can deliver that day.

This doesn’t require much time commitment, but when needed, it's really useful!

On average, you might do one delivery per week, and it would almost always be somewhere close to you (typically within a 5-15 minute drive). You can deliver any time that day. If you couldn’t do the delivery, that’s fine, we can see if any of our other dry bag drivers can do it.

We welcome drivers who live anywhere with an M post code —  but we are particularly looking for drivers who live in the Salford area (including Walkden, Urmston, Worsley, etc.) or North Manchester (Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall, Failsworth, etc.).
