Who we are:

Losing a life partner at any age has a severe impact on well-being. At the Widows Empowerment Trust, we strive to counteract loneliness, social isolation, and loss of confidence in widows and widowers through our work. We promote social inclusion in the lives of anyone that has experienced bereavement.

 

What are we looking for?

Are you interested in supporting people? Are you passionate about bringing communities together? If so...we need volunteers for The Widows Empowerment Trust Christmas Party! Please help us promote our work and charity and raise vital funds to help the Widows Empowerment Trust continue our work to support people who have experienced bereavement.

 

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

Join us at the Irish World Heritage Centre on Sunday, 15th December 2024 to support our Christmas Party. 

 

When:    Sunday 15th December 2024 Time: 9 am - 9.30 pm (including setting up and packing away) - volunteering shifts are flexible (at least 4 hours). The party will run from 3 pm - 9:30 pm 

 

Where:    Irish World Heritage Centre, 1 Irish Town Way, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M8 0AE 

 

Tasks: 

  • Help to set up and coordinate the event 
  • Welcome guests to the party 
  • Help to serve guests at the party 
  • Helping with fundraising activities, e.g. selling pins, raffle tickets, etc. 
  • Helping to organise activities for children 
  • Promoting and raising awareness of our organisation and the work that we do 

 

We will pay for travel expenses up to £5, and food will be provided at the event. We are recruiting multiple volunteers for this event. Join us for a fun and busy day celebrating Christmas and the work of The Widows Empowerment Trust!
