Who we are:

We're Scouts and everyone is welcome here. Every week, we help almost half a million people aged 4-25 develop skills for life. Are you ready to join the adventure?

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for enthusiastic, creative, and committed adults to help launch and run a brand-new Squirrel Scout Drey for children aged 4–6. This exciting new opportunity is about giving young people their first taste of adventure, teamwork, and discovery, setting them up with skills they’ll use for life.

No experience is required – just enthusiasm and a desire to make a difference! We’ll provide all the training, resources, and support you need, including free DBS checks and uniform. You’ll also have guidance from our existing volunteers and access to a community of like-minded people.

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

As a Squirrel Scout volunteer, you’ll help plan and deliver fun, hands-on activities such as games, outdoor adventures, crafts, and experiments. The role is incredibly rewarding and flexible, with tasks shared among a team to make volunteering manageable for everyone. Whether you’re leading a group through a nature trail, helping them build a rocket from recycled materials, or guiding them as they earn their first badges, you’ll play a key role in inspiring and empowering young people.

As part of the team, you’ll support fun, engaging activities like games, crafts, outdoor adventures, and experiments, helping children develop confidence, skills, and friendships that will last a lifetime. Roles can be shared, making the commitment flexible and manageable for everyone.

We’ll provide all the training and resources you need, including free DBS checks and uniform, plus ongoing support from our friendly group. Together, we’ll create a welcoming, exciting environment and ensure everything is ready before we launch.

Volunteering with Squirrels is a brilliant way to gain new skills, meet new people, and give back to your community. Whether you’re looking for personal development or just the chance to have fun and make an impact, this role is for you.

Together, we can open doors for more young people to take part in the adventure of Scouting. Let’s work together to get this new Drey off the ground – and bring the magic of Scouting to even more young lives.
