Who we are:

LASNET is one of the only organisations outside of London that specifically supports the needs of the Latin American community in the UK. We’re a small community looking to grow and reach more people in Manchester, and so we are now recruiting volunteers interested in helping us do this! 

What are we looking for?

We’re searching for volunteers who are interested in helping us to organise regular social events and activities for our members. 

At the moment, we are running a dance for life project, hosting regular dance events at our site in Manchester (Northern Quarter). Volunteers would be helping us to continue this, while also assisting us in designing and delivering our future activity schedule. 

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, well-organised and keen to get involved with social activities with our members!

What would you be doing as a volunteer?

• Supporting our ongoing dance for life project 
• Helping the volunteer coordinator to promote activities and expand our network in Greater Manchester 
• Helping to facilitate upcoming events, for example Christmas gatherings, and participate in them with our members 
• Raising awareness of LASNET activities in the city, for example by helping us with social media or advertising

Ideal volunteers will speak Spanish and/or Portuguese as well as basic English, and will be ready to bring their own ideas to the projects!

¿Quiénes somos?

LASNET es una de las únicas organizaciones fuera de Londres que se enfoca específicamente en las necesidades de la comunidad latinoamericana en el Reino Unido. Somos una pequeña organización buscando a nuevos voluntarios para poder crecer y llegar a ayudar a más personas en la ciudad.

¿Qué estámos buscando?
Queremos trabajar con voluntarios que tienen ganas de organizar eventos sociales habituales y actividades para los miembros de LASNET.

En este momento, tenemos un proyecto de baile, Dance for Life, y organizamos eventos de baile en nuestro sitio en Manchester (Northern Quarter). Voluntarios estarán ayudándonos continuar con este proyecto, y a la vez participando en el diseño y desarrollo de las próximas actividades del network.

Buscamos a alguien entusiasmado, bien organizado, y listo para estar involucrado en todas las actividades sociales que hacemos con los miembros!

Tareas/ Responsabilidades:

• Apoyar al proyecto de Dance For Life que ya está en proceso
• Ayudar a la coordinadora de voluntarios para promocionar las actividades y crecer el network en Greater Manchester 
• Apoyo y organización de eventos, por ejemplo fiestas para la navidad, y participar en las actividades con nuestros miembros
• Promocionar actividades de LASNET en la ciudad y ayudar en promocionar la cultura latinoamericana en general, por ejemplo por las redes sociales

Los voluntarios ideales tendran buen nivel de español/ portuges e inglés básico, y estarán dispuestos a traer sus propias ideas a los proyectos!
