Our midweek group meets every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and you can attend all or one of these days depending on your interest. We have two pick-up points if you do not have your own transport.
Bring along a packed lunch, water, and wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty as well as sturdy footwear. TCV will provide all tools and gloves.
What you will be doing
This role will involve both outdoor practical work and office-based work, supporting TCV staff on a variety of projects with different tasks including:
- Planning activities/ sessions and preparing tools & equipment
- Supporting and leading groups of volunteers in practical activities
- Assisting volunteers with a variety of physical and mental support needs during activities
- Driving volunteers in TCV vehicles (if applicable)
This is an entry level voluntary position, and no previous experience or knowledge is required, though some experience working outdoors may be beneficial.

As confidence and experience grows, Volunteers Officers will be supported to run activities and lead groups independently.

Travel expenses, PPE and branded clothing will be provided.
What you need:
Essential:
- Right to volunteer in the UK
- Over 18 years old
- Ability to work well in a team and take on individual responsibilities
- Energy and motivation to organise and help deliver projects
- Ability to share and communicate TCV values
Preferred:
- UK drivers’ licence
- Some knowledge of practical conservation and/or nature-based health and well-being activities
- Subject to a DBS check.
How much time:
Ideally minimum 2 days per week, including a Monday, with the position being held for at least 6 months. However, this can be flexible so please get in touch to discuss this.
