– Who we are –

We work with primary, secondary and virtual schools to enable children to grow a love for reading - in turn improving their confidence and well-being, and their attainment across the curriculum. Over the past 50 years, we have developed our expertise in making this happen.

– What are we looking for? –

Reading Helper's are adult volunteers living or working within a 5 mile radius of a school that has asked for our help. You need to commit to at least an afternoon a week for a whole year during term-time, and as we invest in your training we'd appreciate it if you could stay longer.

– What would you be doing as a volunteer? –

The role isn't about listening to children read, but creating a relaxed session that allows children to work alongside you to discover the joy of books. 

We're looking for people who can offer a minimum of one consistent weekday afternoon throughout the school year.
