Varied times and days between Monday -Saturday 9am-5pm
Department and Location of Volunteering Role:
Ardwick Furniture Shop
Key Tasks & Activities include:
- Assist with the delivery, unloading and safe movement of large furniture items
- Clean and prepare donated furniture ready for sale
- Carry out small, basic furniture repairs where required
- PAT test donated electrical items (training provided)
- Occasionally accompany drivers on the van to collect donated furniture
- Help maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all time
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn
- Reasonable level of physical fitness, as heavy lifting may be involved
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Reliable and committed approach to volunteering
- No previous experience required
Training and Support Provided
- Full induction and role-specific training
- PAT testing training
- Ongoing support from the Furniture Shop Manager and retail team
- Volunteers must complete annual mandatory eLearning; basic IT skills and access to a personal email address are required
This is a hands-on, active role and may involve heavy lifting. Volunteers must be 18 years or over. No previous experience is required as full training and support will be provided.
