Varied times and days between Monday -Saturday 9am-5pm

Ardwick Furniture Shop

Key Tasks & Activities include:

  • Assist with the delivery, unloading and safe movement of large furniture items
  • Clean and prepare donated furniture ready for sale
  • Carry out small, basic furniture repairs where required
  • PAT test donated electrical items (training provided)
  • Occasionally accompany drivers on the van to collect donated furniture
  • Help maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all time

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness, as heavy lifting may be involved
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Reliable and committed approach to volunteering
  • No previous experience required

Training and Support Provided

  • Full induction and role-specific training
  • PAT testing training
  • Ongoing support from the Furniture Shop Manager and retail team
  • Volunteers must complete annual mandatory eLearning; basic IT skills and access to a personal email address are required

This is a hands-on, active role and may involve heavy lifting. Volunteers must be 18 years or over. No previous experience is required as full training and support will be provided.
