Hulme Community Garden Centre is once again opening its historic gates to welcome Green Island Festival this summer, on the 6th of June, 25th of July and the 5th of September.
This community-led festival, located just a stone's throw from the University of Manchester campus, aims to combat the gentrification of Hulme by hosting a diverse and eclectic line-up of more than 60 live bands and DJs across five stages between the Garden Centre and the Niamos Radical Arts Centre on Warwick Street.
Like last year, to ensure the smooth running of Green Island Festival, we require a dedicated team of stewards. But this year Green Island is bigger than ever, with an even larger roster of artists and performers, so we will be looking to hire a larger team of chatty and approachable volunteering staff to make sure that the festival goes off without a hitch!
