Description of the opportunity:

Family SEN Group is looking for an enthusiastic person with lived experience of neurodivergence/SEND to lead monthly walks in Manchester City.
As facilitator, it will be your responsibility to choose the route. The walk will be once a month on a weekend day of your choosing, the same day every month. Our organisation already has a social media manager who will handle advertising everything for you. Once you choose your route, someone from our organisation will make sure this is accessible. Following this, all you need to do is lead the walk. We also have a map maker who creates accessible maps, this will be created for you. It is up to you if you want to do different walks in the City area every month.

The walks are family orientated, this can be different for everyone. For example, some people's family are one person and a dog. It is not up to us to decide what a person's family is. You will be given a T-shirt with our logo on it in a colour of your choice.
Once you decide to join us you will be part of our SEN walking committee across Greater-Manchester and will be expected to participate in a team's meeting every 3 months to check in.  So far these walks have helped many families feel less isolated, this is such an important role in changing people's lives for the better. You will potentially meet people from all walks of life with many different beliefs. We do not judge or advise based off of our own biases. We give people space to talk if they want to, we let people be exactly who they are in a safe, kind way. You will have our safeguarding leads number and be given free training relevant to your role.
