Description of the opportunity:
The Festive Cook-Up by Cracking Good Food is a team-based charity cooking event held at Freight Island in Manchester, where corporate and community teams transform surplus food waste into nutritious meals for homeless support organizations across Greater Manchester.
- Goal: Create around 1,500+ to 2,000+ hot meals while saving tons of surplus food from going to landfill through a partnership with FareShare.
Activities: Team cooking challenges, live festive music, entertainment, raffles, and networking with local businesses.
If you would like to help with the setting up the day before we would love to have you but be aware lifting will be involved as we move equipment and of course all of the veggies!
It is a one time event but you can also join us for future community cooking sessions by filling in an application form.Please email traceyc@crackinggoodfood.org
