Research Volunteer

Healthwatch Manchester is the independent champion for people who use health and social care services. We’re here to make sure that those running services, put people at the heart of care. Our sole purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf.

What we expect from you:

At Healthwatch Manchester we expect our research volunteers to conduct research into local health and social care services.

What does the role entail:

The role is extremely varied and will require you to carry out a variety of activities such as:

• Conducting research projects that will lead to a positive impact on the standard of healthcare services in Manchester
• Identifying issues with services in Manchester, based on feedback collected from local residents
• Working within a team of volunteers to collectively create and compile research reports
• Contributing to the Healthwatch Manchester annual report
• Volunteering offsite by visiting local health and social care facilities on an ad-hoc basis
• Attending regular support and supervision sessions

What we believe will help you settle into this role:

• Excellent Communications Skills
• Strong Interpersonal Skills
• Ability to accurately collect and record data
• Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite

How long will the role last:

We have various projects which take place throughout the year to cater to the needs of all volunteers.
