Funders
During 2017-2018, Macc receives its major funding from the following bodies:
- Manchester City Council
This is a contract to deliver capacity building services, voluntary sector engagement and the Volunteer Centre.
- Manchester Health and Care Commissioning
A contract to support and develop the voluntary sector's role in health, social care and mental health service. We have also received a grant which is to be administered by Macc as a grant scheme for voluntary organisations working with isolated older people. - Ambition for Ageing
Funding from this Big Lottery funded programme for older people in Greater Manchester. The programme is led by GMCVO who fund Macc to host and develop the Greater Manchester Older People's Network. - Sport England
Funding for our Skill Givers programme in partnership with Salford CVS. This operates in Manchester and Salford and links voluntary, community and social enterprise groups who deliver physical/sport activities with local businesses who can donate their valuable skills and experience to help them to grow and prosper.
We also generate a small amount of income from fees and charged-for services such as training, events and room hire.
Supporters
Generally, Macc has a policy of not seeking to compete with "frontline organisations" for public donations: we want to get more money and resources into the local voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.
However, we do seek to raise funds as part of our Spirit of Manchester programme in order to give out mini-grants to local organisations. You can read more about this here: https://www.manchestercommunitycentral.org/whats-happening-manchester/spirit-manchester-fund
We also receive some support with additional resources to enable us to support the local sector better, though this is not always in the form of funds.
A prime example is that Safestore UK provide us with a free local storage unit in which we keep archives, spare promotional materials and so on.
