Teach First – Summer Projects

Teach First are an education charity working with schools across the country to ensure that all children have access to an excellent education regardless of their background.

In partnership with others Teach First recruit dynamic, passionate individuals and support them to raise the achievement, aspirations and access to opportunity for their pupils. The trainees join a Leadership Development Programme (LDP) which involves teaching for a minimum of two years, achieving a PGCE and wider leadership skills training.

Lloyds Bank Foundation Round 2 grants open

The Lloyds Bank Foundation funding programmes offer short and long term grants. Support is adapted to the needs of small and medium sized charities that are committed to delivering work which breaks or prevents cycles of disadvantage.

Lloyds Bank Foundation grants are open to charities whose income in the last set of published accounts greater than £25,000 and less than £1million and who meet their eligibility criteria.

Sport Relief Community Cash

Sport Relief Community Cash is a grant scheme running across Greater Manchester of £100,000 with grants ranging from £500 to £1,000 available to small organisations that are undertaking work that helps people of all ages feel more included in their community, builds their skills and increases their sense of achievement.

The grants are available to constituted community organisations, registered charities, social enterprises, co-operatives and community interest companies. Groups which have been established for less than 12 months are eligible to apply.

Big Potential funding to help attract social investment

Big Potential, a BIG Lottery Fund grant fund, will deliver approximately £20m of grant funding over 3 years to eligible VCSE organisations with the aim of improving the sustainability, capacity and scale of VCSE organisations in order that they may deliver greater social impact.

The programme aims to raise awareness of the social investment market and support VCSEs who want to prepare themselves for social investment or winning contracts.

Big Potential has two possible application routes - Breakthrough and Advanced.

2016 SMK Campaigner Awards

Do you know an inspirational campaigner?

The SMK Campaigner Awards recognise and celebrate people who demonstrate their commitment to and effectiveness in tackling the root causes of injustice and inequality, be it over the last year or over many years. The award winners are people who have brought about lasting change within their communities or more widely, either on a local or national basis.

Winners will receive their award at a special evening ceremony at the House of Lords on Wednesday 13 April 2016.

Active Citizens in Our Own Health – Community Reporters Training Offer

Are you interested in showcasing local examples of patients, VCSE providers and public health services working together to promote health and wellbeing?
Are you interested in taking part in a project that will train representatives (staff or volunteers) from local VCSE organisations to become Community Reporters?

As a result of funding from the Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) the training is FREE and participants will be supported to make a short film about their (or their organisation’s) experiences of health, well-being and health related care.

The One Manchester Community Fund has been set up to give the people who live and work in the communities in which One Manchester operates the chance to get creative and get funding for projects which can create opportunities, transform communities and change lives.
