Macc has published a report which outlines its recent response to the Cabinet Office’s Local Sustainability Fund (LSF) and its subsequent efforts to support Manchester based groups engaged in the application process. Macc’s overall aim was to increase the groups chances of being successful and therefore being awarded much needed funding.

Comic Relief - Local Communities Grants

This programme aims to empower local people, enabling them to create lasting change in their communities. Projects should be run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with and priority will be given to small, locally based groups or organisations. Grants of up to £5,000 are available.

Tesco Bags of Help grants

The Bags of Help grant funds capital projects that provide community benefit that do not charge for access. The community grant scheme will support thousands of community green space projects each year with between £8,000 and £12,000.

Tesco award grants each year in around 400 Tesco regions to make sure the funding is spread evenly across England, Wales and Scotland. In total the Bags of Help programme supports thousands of projects each year.

Universal Credit Personal Budgeting Support Grant

Manchester City Council are seeking applications for funding from Voluntary and Community Sector services / organisations who are able to provide Personal Budgeting Support for those who require advice and support for managing Universal Credit. The aim of the support is to help residents adapting to a single household payment, being paid monthly in arrears and to manage the housing element being paid directly to them rather than to the landlord.
