Description: Independent Choices Greater Manchester is a Greater Manchester-based professional organisation with over 40 years experience supporting, advising and working with victims of domestic abuse and violence in Greater Manchester.

As an organisation, our key charity’s objectives are: 
- To provide support for victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse for people aged 16 or over and their families, throughout the United Kingdom 
- To advance public and professional education and understanding of the issues of domestic abuse/ violence throughout the United Kingdom

Volunteering Opportunities

Opportunity title Summary
Female Trustees We are a Manchester based charity that has been working for almost forty years with women and their dependents who have been effected by domestic abuse. We offer two helplines that serve Greater Manchester: a Women’s Domestic Abuse Helpline and a Community Helpline Language Service which is sensitive to the needs of South Asian Women.
Social Media Volunteer The Social Media Volunteer will be responsible for helping us develop, collate, prepare, and upload quality posts and communications content to a variety of social media platforms.
Helpline Volunteer The Helpline Volunteer will receive training, work as a part of a team, provide advice, emotional support and practical information to callers who ring the Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline.
Fundraising Volunteer The Fundraising Volunteer will work with us to generate additional income by creating and delivering fundraising events and activities throughout the year.
The Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline (ICGM) Trustee This Manchester-based woman-led charity is currently looking for a new Trustee. Their Trustees are passionate about supporting victims/survivors of domestic abuse. If this sounds like you, they would love you to get in touch.
Domestic Abuse Helpline Volunteer (Female Only) The Helpline Volunteer will receive training, work as a part of a team, to provide advice, emotional support and practical information to callers who ring the Greater Manchester Domestic Abuse Helpline.
