The Big LGF Bag Pack
LGBT Foundation Pride Volunteers 2015 Manchester Pride 2015: We need you!!!
It's getting closer! Manchester Pride is being held this year FRIDAY 28th to MONDAY 31st AUGUST.
Last year was a fantastic event, and as usual our volunteers helped to make it really special. We had a huge range of events for volunteers to support, from a tea dance, to family day, a community cafe, outreach activities and of course representing LGBT Foundation in the parade.
Trustee Every day at LGBT Foundation, we’re working hard to ensure that the LGBT community receive world-class services and support. An important part of that process is making sure that the people of LGBT Foundation share that important belief. With that in mind, we are currently seeking to recruit new members to our Board of Trustees.
LGBT Foundation Pride Volunteer Various roles, both around Manchester and in our offices, assisting the LGBT Foundation at Manchester Pride
World AIDS Day Fundraising As members of the World AIDS partnership, we are looking for volunteers to support with raising funds during World AIDS Day 2017 on December 1st. As a one off fundraising volunteer you’ll be helping to raise vital funds to improve services for people living with HIV. Our services empower people to live happy and healthy lives with HIV and be free from stigma and discrimination. We also work to raise awareness about HIV and to encourage HIV testing. We are particularly looking for volunteers that can offer support between 9am and 5pm on Friday December 1st. This will involve street fundraising around Manchester City Centre, selling World AIDS Day red ribbons.
Village Angels Volunteer The main focus of the ‘Village Angels’ project is to be a positive presence in the Village, providing support, services and resources to those that need them. Our interactions are varied! Some examples of the stuff we do includes: giving out information on venues around the Village, offering basic advice on alcohol, supporting someone to report a hate crime or incident and helping someone get home. The role of a Village Angel is incredibly varied. We require volunteers that are outgoing, positive, empathetic and must be able to be flexible and productive in a changeable and sometimes challenging environment. Team work is at the centre of the ‘Village Angels’, you will need to take instructions from the team lead and show willingness to help out with your teammates.
Village Haven Volunteer Shift leads and volunteers will provide individual support to vulnerable adults in the Haven. Service users will be adults who have become vulnerable within the night time economy, and require assistance to be able to travel home safely. Our volunteers will provide individual assistance to volunteers, and where relevant, engage with third party services to ensure the service user is supported to move to a place of safety.
Helpline Volunteer We are recruiting for volunteers to join our “Direct team” and provide helpline and email support. The goal of our Foundation is to: Provide a one-stop information, advice and support service, To enable our service users to increase their awareness and knowledge in addressing their health (sexual, mental and physical) needs, Increase service user knowledge of their legal rights, Improve awareness of available support options to assist in reducing isolation and improve social networks. We are looking for volunteers who are able to commit to one shift per week for 4 hours. We provide training and ongoing support to all of our Helpline volunteers.
