Cause and Consequence – Mental Health and Homelessness

Venue
Royal Exchange Theatre, Saint Anns Square, Manchester, M2 7DH

Be part of something that has the potential to transform how people experience mental health and homelessness in the city.

On Thursday 9 August, 5pm, at the Royal Exchange Theatre the Manchester Homelessness Partnership Mental Health Action Group will be hosting the launch of their peer-led research into the issues affecting people who face homelessness and mental health issues.

The Manchester Homelessness Partnership Mental Health Action Group know that homelessness impacts on people’s mental health and at the same time they know that mental health challenges make it hard for people to find and keep a home. This research explores what support can really help people facing this situation; what missed opportunities are there already? How can we, as a city, come together to make this a much better place for people going through this?

The group worked together to highlight the experiences of both those personally affected by homelessness and mental health issues and those trying to provide support.

On the night there will be a mix of speakers, short film and songs that have been chosen by members of the action group who have strong emotional links to the music. There will be opportunities to view and contribute to the future of the work and the chance to mix with like-minded people who are passionate about improving the lives of others.
