Winter Resilience 1: Sharing your Resilient Ideas

Date & Time of Event:
15 December, 2020 - 12:00 to 13:00
Venue:
Online

Earlier in the year, Macc held a couple of webinars looking at individual and team resilience. As we move in to the winter months, our routines have to change and we will be tackling real challenges, both personally and at work.
.
In this webinar, we will explore the key aspects of winter resilience, the specific current challenges you might be facing, and you will have the opportunity to both share your personal challenges and to offer your ideas to help others.

Resilience can be learnt, it can apply to you and your work. It includes compassion for ourselves and others, being present and mindful, and having the courage to keep aiming for our goals (whatever they might be). Resilience allows you to flourish, even in difficult circumstances, whilst having strong wellbeing. Understanding the language and skills of resilience will help you to be confident, robust and authentic.

During this webinar, we will explore current challenges and how they might have affected your wellbeing, how the body deals with stress and burnout, the emotion of change when dealing with uncertainty, and discuss ideas about how to increase your resilience. There will also be time to share your ideas with others.

Winter Resilience 2, the second webinar, will look at leadership resilience and will take place in January 2021.

This webinar will be led by Steve Playford on behalf of Macc. Steve is a Leadership and Wellbeing consultant, Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, ASCL Consultant and a qualified Wellbeing Coach with the British School of Coaching. Steve is an Accredited Trainer for the Resilience at Work (R@W) global consortium, a contributor to World Values Day and an active member of the Association for Business Psychology. During the Covid-19 crisis, Steve has delivered resilience coaching and webinars to Voluntary Sector Organisations and Education Leaders. Previously, he was a senior leader in schools across Greater Manchester for 20 years including 10 years as a headteacher.

As a leader with extensive experience of leading teams, institutions and systems, Steve is passionate about growing leadership and resilience skills for individuals and organisations.
