Generation Rent

Generation Rent campaigns with private renters for professionally managed, secure, decent and affordable privately rented homes.

Generation Rent represent over 9 million tenants on a national scale, and work on policy and research as well as local campaigns in over ten regions including: Greater Manchester, Liverpool, the Wirral, Brighton, Hastings, Portsmouth and London boroughs of Brent, Newham, Hammersmith and Fullham, Haringey, Lewisham and Wandsworth.

Currently Pollyanna Steiner is the Manchester based community organiser for Generation Rent, and alongside her colleague Jules Preston in Liverpool she co-ordinates Northwest campaigns.

Key campaigns entail drop-in advice sessions at city library, Northwest tenant’s action group, and local campaigns for rent controls, and fairer agency fees and Rent Freedom Day, which is a day of action for tenants being co-coordinated by a host of organisations which is being held on 4 February at Central Hall Westminster, for further information, visit: www.rentfreedomday.org a free transport option is available for those travelling from Manchester.
