GMYN Board Trustee Recruitment

Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) are in an exciting period of growth as they embark on the delivery of a number of new projects and services to support young people across Greater Manchester. They would like to expand their board in this time of development.

GMYN want board members who believe in their cause and are able to give enough time to the role.

No previous experience of board membership is needed. Applications are welcomed from people of all ages and backgrounds. Enthusiasm and commitment are the most important qualities they are looking for.

As a board member you would have the opportunity to get involved with a number of different activities, including staff recruitment, strategic away days, campaigning, team building, quality standards, fundraising events and supporting the growth and development of this innovative organisation.

GMYN are particularly interested in people who have experience in finance and / or fundraising.

Knowledge / experience of the private sector would also be an advantage but a lack of this knowledge / experience shouldn’t stop you from applying.

The minimal time commitment is attendance at six weekly board meetings with time in between to read papers and carry out small actions. However there are many ways to get more involved in the organisation and GMYN would like board members who are keen to take a more active role.

Board meetings usually take place early evening and are held at GMYN's office in Ardwick, Manchester, which is around one mile south of the city centre and easy to reach by public transport.

This is an unpaid voluntary role but a great opportunity for personal and career development.

If you would like to find out more about the organisation, contact GMYN’s Chief Executive, Alex Fairweather, on 0161 274 3377, or email [email protected].
