Go ON Manchester is running a series of Roadshow events in partnership with the University of Manchester student volunteer programme, and with the support of the GMB Reachout project Learning bus and unionlearn.
Digital Champion volunteers, along with campaign staff and an ICT Tutor from MAES, will be chatting to residents about going online and using the internet – there are laptops on the bus so people can 'have a go' and get individual help. People will be encouraged to go along to their local library/adult education centre/community centre to sign up for a beginners ICT course or further help.
The activity is aimed at those with no or low digital skills, and volunteers will be able to answer questions, help set up email addresses, explain about getting online at home, and will demonstrate some useful websites, including MCC online services.
