2 Feb 2018 - 10:22 by michelle.foster

Gorton Community Grocer is a food-sharing project redistributing groceries and toiletries, which opens on 9 February, at Gorton Community Centre, 543 Abbey Hey Lane, M18 8PF. Gorton Community Grocer will be open every Friday 9.30am-12pm. Gorton Community Grocer

Members pay £2.50 for around £12 worth of groceries including tins, chilled, frozen, fruit and vegetables. Membership is available to people living within walking distance (15 minutes) of the project.

Simply join for free on the day and if there are places you can start shopping straight away. If the project is full you will be placed on a waiting list. Then pay your £2.50 and chose your items using a colour-coded guide.

£2.50 gets you around £12 worth of food, end of line toiletries and household essentials, cookery courses, training and volunteering opportunities and a friendly face and a brew.
