The College is presently inviting applications from potential governors with a background in the Adult/Lifelong Learning or Higher Education Sectors to fill 2 casual vacancies on the board.
The Co-operative College Trust is a registered charity and is recognised throughout the world as a centre of excellence for co-operative learning. The College was founded in 1919 and works with co-operative managers, staff and members in the UK and internationally. The College has pioneered innovative programmes with schools and young people and manages the National Co-operative Archive and the Rochdale Pioneers Museum on behalf of the Co-operative Heritage Trust.
The Board of Governors normally meet 5 times a year during the daytime and for a strategic planning day each June. Governors also serve on one of the College’s sub-committees when vacancies arise (Audit and Risk, Quality and Standards, Search and Effectiveness, Remuneration).
All governors are required to complete an eligibility form, a register of interests and abide by a code of conduct.
If you are a member of a Co-operative or mutual organisation with a background in the Adult/Lifelong Learning or Higher Education sector and interested in being part of this unique educational Institution supporting the continued development of a successful and diverse co-operative sector, contact the Clerk to the Board of Governors for an information pack by email: [email protected].
Applications should be submitted by Monday 26 November 2012, 12:00 for consideration by the College’s Search and Effectiveness committee, prior to recommendation to the Board of Governors.
Governors are ultimately appointed by the Board of Directors of Co-operatives UK acting as Trustee of the Co-operative College Trust.
The College is keen to ensure that membership of the Board of Governors reflects the strategic needs of the College and the diversity of the communities it serves.
The Co-operative College is striving to be an equal opportunities organisation and welcomes applications from all parts of the community.
