Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) is looking to commission organisations to deliver the Greater Manchester Talent Match programme in areas of highest multiple deprivation across Greater Manchester or for client groups that are currently underrepresented on the programme in any area of Greater Manchester.

Applications are invited from organisations who could deliver the service to engage eligible Talent Match young people either resident in one of the target wards or belonging to one of the target client groups.

GMCVO recommends that organisations interested in applying attend the upcoming briefing meeting on 15 July 2016 at Friends Meeting House, Manchester. This will give prospective applicants the opportunity to learn more about the programme principles, the delivery model and the approach GMCVO is looking for. This bidding process will use a participatory budgeting approach. Bidders will submit a short application and organisations whose applications are shortlisted will be invited to pitch to a variety of stakeholders who will make the decisions of who is commissioned by way of voting.

Greater Manchester Talent Match Host Organisations employ and manage one or more Talent Coaches to support young people, aged 18-24 who have not been in employment, education or training for twelve months or more and who need extra support to help them along their pathway to work. Talent Coaches are named workers who offer young people one-to-one, long-term support throughout their journey towards employment. Support is delivered through a series of opportunities designed to help young people to make positive progress.

It is expected around 30 percent of Greater Manchester Talent Match beneficiaries will progress into employment. Talent Coaches provide in-work support to help sustain employment. As Greater Manchester Talent Match is a research and learning project, aiming to leave a legacy of change to the way youth employment is approached, varied individualised methods are welcomed to contribute towards the programme’s wider learning.
