gmcaGreater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has launched a public consultation on the next Greater Manchester Police and Crime Plan, which will set the direction for policing and community safety across the city-region for the next three years.

The public consultation will run until 30 November. Responses to the consultation will be collated and feed into the final version of the next Plan, which will be published in January 2022.

Greater Manchester’s Police and Crime Plan describes how the Mayor of Greater Manchester will work with the police and partners to achieve its priorities.

Over summer 2021, pre-consultation engagement was carried out with the city-region’s 10 Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs), Greater Manchester Police (GMP), young people, businesses, communities, health organisations and VCSE organisations ahead of refreshing the Plan.

This engagement led to the following three priorities:

  • Keeping people safe and supporting victims
  • Reducing harm and offending
  • Strengthening communities and places
