Have your say – Strengthening partnerships for emergency preparedness

The government is currently running a public consultation on how organisations involved in preparing for and responding to emergencies (such as local councils, health bodies, and emergency services) work with voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations.

This follows a recommendation from the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, which highlighted the vital role that VCFSE organisations play in supporting communities during emergencies. The consultation proposes strengthening the legal requirement for these emergency responders to build and maintain partnerships with the VCFSE sector.

The survey asks about:

  • Your current experiences of working with emergency responders
  • What’s working well and what could be improved
  • What challenges your organisation might face if stronger partnership requirements were introduced
  • What support or changes would help you work more closely with emergency responders

How to take part:
Full information on the survey can be found here: Strengthening Partnerships Consultation – GOV.UK
You can complete the survey online here: Strengthening Partnerships

Deadline: 16th September 2025

Your feedback will help shape how partnerships between emergency responders and the VCFSE sector are supported in the future.
