Help Red Rose Forest create new woodlands for all

Red Rose Forest is planning a winter of tree planting – and need your help to create whole new swathes of woodland across Greater Manchester.

With funding secured from the government’s Big Tree Plant initiative and environmental charity Trees for Cities they’re aiming to plant thousands of trees during the next two months.

A series of tree planting days are taking place during November and December:
Date & Time: Tuesday 13 November 2012, 10:30 - 15:00
Venue: Scotland Hall Road, Newton Heath, M40
Volunteers are needed to create a new small woodland area in the park. Meet at the planting area which will be in the far corner of park - furthest from the entrance.

Date & Time: Thursday 15 November 2012, 10:30 - 15:30
Venue: Plant Hill Park, Blackley, Manchester.
Help create a new woodland in the park

Date & Time: Saturday 24 November 2012, 10:30 - 15:30
Venue: Boggart Hole Clough, Charlestown Road, Charlestown, Manchester
2000 new trees are being planted creating a wildlife corridor joining up two existing woods in the Park

Date & Time: Tuesday 27 November 2012, 10:30 - 15:30
Venue: Boggart Hole Clough

Date & Time: Thursday 29 November 2012, 10:30 - 15:30

Date & Time: Saturday 1 December 2012, 10:30 - 15:30
Venue: Fog Lane Park, East Didsbury
Be part of creating two new native woodlands to enhance the wildlife value of the park

Tree planting will also be taking place at a number of schools across Greater Manchester in the next few weeks.

All equipment will be provided on the day as well as hot drinks for volunteers. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and strong boots or wellies.
