Host organisations for Talent Match coaches wanted

GMCVO is inviting organisations to apply to host one of the first group of ‘Talent Coaches’, under Greater Manchester’s Talent Match programme.

Talent Match is a £108 million Big Lottery funded scheme aimed at tackling youth unemployment in 21 areas of England hardest hit by the economic downturn. It is a five-year investment for those aged 18-24 who have not been in employment, education or training for 12 months or more and need particular support to help them along the pathway to work.

Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisation (GMCVO) has received £9.6 million from the Big Lottery Fund to lead a unique partnership of voluntary, private and public sectors.

This is very much a pilot round and GMCVO will only be recruiting up to a maximum of 15 organisations from across the whole of Greater Manchester on this occasion.

In order to be considered for this initial pilot organisations must be in a position to identify/appoint a Talent Coach, who will be able to commit to attending the first series of compulsory training sessions in June, as per the details given in the information pack, as well as being in a position to start signing up beneficiaries from the target group in June/July.

GMCVO also expect those who take part in this pilot round to assist them with regular feedback about the process as things develop, and make suggestions as to how things could be changed/improved for the future.

It is important to note that organisations that cannot meet these initial tight timescales will not be disadvantaged from being considered as a Talent Matchhost in the future.

Subsequent rounds will be held at regular intervals and have longer application periods. The first of the main rounds will be held in August/September.
