Improving Black Health Outcomes (IBHO) BioResource

The IBHO BioResource is a new research initiative dedicated to studying health conditions that affect people from Black communities in the UK. The project is part of the NIHR BioResource, a re-contactable resource that connects health research volunteers to a wide range of research studies.

Volunteers with and without health conditions are being invited who match the following criteria:

  • From Black communities

  • Sickle Cell patients from any ethnic background to join the IBHO BioResource

What will I have to do?

  • Read the participant information sheet
  • Once you are happy with the information, sign the consent form
  • Provide a blood or saliva sample
  • Fill out a health and lifestyle questionnaire. This helps researchers better understand how genetics and lifestyle affect health
  • Be open to receive invitations to take part in further research studies. You are free to decline when invited.
