Improving Journeys – Manchester

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is working with Manchester City Council (MCC) to improve journeys for people around Manchester, including to and from the city centre, with a focus on catching the bus, walking, wheeling and cycling.

The aim is to make journeys better and easier by making them more reliable, safer and more sustainable and to do this changes and improvements need to be made to streets in Manchester.

Through funding from the Government’s City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) TfGM are looking at a range of options to do this, including:

  • Making bus stops better, safer and more accessible
  • Making it easier to walk, wheel or cycle to a bus stop or get from a bus to a train or tram stop with better pedestrian and cyclist crossings and footpaths
  • Introducing a range of measures to help shorten bus journey times and make services more reliable

TfGM would like you to tell them about your experiences on the transport network, where they should invest and what would make your journeys better, to help make the right improvements.

Making these improvements is a vital part of the Bee Network. The Bee Network is Greater Manchester’s joined-up transport network, helping us to make journeys more reliable, safer and more sustainable.
