Unlock opportunities for disabled people in sport, physical activity and movement. GM Moving, in collaboration with Sector3, Seashell, and Breakthrough UK, is offering a series of workshops designed to reduce barriers and create inclusive volunteering experiences for VCFSE organisations across Greater Manchester.
Why attend?
Did you know that only about 18% of disabled people in Greater Manchester volunteer in sport and physical activity, compared to 22% of non-disabled individuals? For those with 3 or more impairments, this figure falls to just 13% (Active Lives Survey, 22-23).
A significant barrier is the lack of accessible opportunities. These workshops provide essential training and resources for organisations aiming to improve disability inclusion in their volunteer workforce. By participating, you’ll gain practical insights on recruitment, training, and supporting disabled volunteers, helping to bridge this gap. Our hosts all have lived experiences of one or multiple disabilities.
