Children and young people have been badly affected by the pandemic and lockdowns. Youth Elements vision is to deliver youth work activities, with a mobile youth club “The Action Van”. The 
activities being delivered include arts and crafts, physical activity, reading corner. Youth Elements will invite local facilitators including circus skills, fitness instructors and musicians, to name a few. Youth Elements want to provide a fun interactive and informal learning environment on young people’s territory (like parks). The Action Van will enable for life learning to take place, make new friends, develop social skills, whilst building professional relationships with youth workers, which leads to exploring new exciting opportunities to develop self.
Youth Elements understand that school holidays is a great time for young people to ‘hang out and just be’ however, they are also vulnerable to fall into the wrong crowds, experiment with drugs, alcohol, join gangs, become drug mules. The Action Van is a prevention resource for everyone. One of the aims is to bring people and communities together.
The van has passed its MOT, has been serviced and is insured. Youth Elements now want to renovate the internal part of the VW Transporter van. The external side will be a creative informal learning youth project, though an accredited graffiti art project. Youth Elements will work and engage with those young people who are hard to reach and involve community artists along the journey.
Action Wish List renovation
Youth Elements want carpenters, upholstery, joineries, storage creations, artists…Youth Elements want people who haves skills experience and knowledge in renovation. Youth Elements want designers to assist how the van can be best utilised for storage, help with the prep work, electrics, installing TV and games consoles……..Ideally young people gain some DIY skills too.
This is a fantastic opportunity to bring all people and communities together for a meaningful and memorable time and experience. Any support will be so much appreciated.
