Introducing the GM Children in Care Social Enterprise Taskforce

A new GM body set up to bring diversity, choice and, high standards of care for children in residential care.

childrenAbout the Taskforce
The GM CICSET (Children in Care Social Enterprise Taskforce) is inspiring social enterprises and third sector organisations to co-produce innovative solutions for children’s social care services in GM.

This partnership will revolutionise the availability and delivery of care by building a sandbox where ideas, opportunities and challenges can be shared together.

The partnership will bring diversity to a market that is overwhelmingly dominated by the private sector, creating greater choice for local authorities, and transforming outcomes for children and young people.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) are leading this project alongside the 10 GM Local Authority Children’s Services. This event will give colleagues the chance to hear about their plans, to get involved at this early stage, to network, debate and most importantly, hear:

  • About the challenges facing the sector, and how radical change is needed
  • Where the opportunities, funding and demand lie for social enterprises interested in supporting children in care
  • From Capacity CIC (Juno in Liverpool) who will share their journey in setting up a ground-breaking children’s residential care service
  • Care experienced young people will share their views on what support has made a positive impact in their lives

Speakers will include representatives from Children’s Services, Capacity CIC, Social adVentures and the Local Authority.
