Dear friend
I need to ask a favour. Can I have 15 minutes of your time?
Like many other local Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) groups and organisations, Macc is faced with increasing demand for our services while key funders have significantly cut our funding. We anticipate further cuts in future.
In the last 5 years we’ve taken responsibility for ensuring that Manchester’s groups, organisations and volunteers get the support they need to do what they do best. We’ve developed initiatives like Manchester Community Central and Volunteer Centre Manchester, the Spirit of Manchester Awards and the Voluntary Sector Assembly. Macc remains committed to encouraging, supporting and developing VCSE groups, organisations and individuals to have a real influence over the places and communities in which they live.
With reducing funds we have to change the way we operate in order to continue to meet the demand for our support. We recently announced that a number of Macc staff would be leaving the organisation through voluntary redundancy. We’ve also been looking to increase the levels of income we generate from selling services and resources but as the majority of our customers are either VCSE groups and organisations or volunteers, this is never realistically going to be a major source of income.
We need to make decisions about how we address this and so to help us do that, we would like to ask our members and anyone with an interest in support for the VCSE sector in Manchester to complete a survey about Macc’s services.
We hope you will continue to support us by completing this survey. We are very aware that there are lots of requests to fill in online surveys and consultations these days but this is the best way we can realistically invite our members and the people who use our services to inform our thinking. We want to ask you what you think you will need from us and how we should deliver this. This will inform how we reshape our work and our organisation for the future.
The survey can be found here: www.surveymonkey.com/r/XX598H7
It should take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete.
The closing date for responses is Friday 16 October 2015 at 5pm
We’ve tried to keep it as concise as possible while also ensuring that our members and those who use our services give us a steer on how you would like us to plan and deliver services and support and how we sustain them. During November we will publish a summary of the messages we get from the survey and our plans to respond to them.
Thank you, in anticipation, for taking the time to complete this survey and, as always, please keep in touch.
Best wishes
Mike Wild
