Mental Health Awareness Week runs from 12 - 18 May 2025. The theme this year is 'community'.
This Mental Health Awareness Week is all about celebrating community, and how it supports our mental health and wellbeing. Communities connect, support, and give us a sense of belonging and purpose. From local to global, online to in-person, we all need community.
Being part of a community can make life feel more meaningful and enjoyable, help us feel happier and safer, and improve our mental health. It can even provide protection from the emotional harm of discrimination.
Yet sometimes, although we’re all part of communities, we don’t always realise the benefits for our mental health. Luckily, there are lots of ways for us to get more involved in our communities and boost our mental health and wellbeing.
By making the most of the communities around us, we can strengthen our connections, find new opportunities, and even make new friends along the way.
