My Gen Community Reporter Training

trainingThe Talking About My Generation team has launched a new programme of training. The training is for existing community reporters and members of the public over the age of 50 across Greater Manchester who are interested in learning new skills.

These are the upcoming sessions in the My Gen Community Reporter Training series:
Photography, video taking, and editing – 7 December 2021, 10am-12pm, Age UK Manchester. (Bring a phone or camera where possible to use during the session)
Interview training – interviewer and interviewee – 4 February, 1pm-3pm (venue tbc)
Podcast training – host, guest, editing – 8 April, 1pm-3pm (venue tbc) with Vic from MicMedia
How to create social media graphics, leaflets, and poster designs – 3 June, 1pm-3pm (venue tbc)  
Social media training – 9 September, 1pm-3pm (venue tbc)  
WordPress management – editing and publishing stories – 11 November, 1pm-3pm (venue tbc) between

Most sessions are run by former Manchester Evening News journalist Kirsty Day – along with other talented colleagues in the industry.

Kirsty has more than 18 years’ experience of working in the media and is passionate about diversifying the media.
