The Greater Manchester VCFSE Leadership Group and GM Equality Alliance are pleased to share new guidance on hearing the voice of lived experience in policy making, developed as part of the VCSE Accord.
It aims to support public sector colleagues in including the voice of lived experience in policy making.
The guidance brings together key principles for including the voice of lived experience in policy making with practical guidance around remuneration.
Greater Manchester has ambitions as a city-region to do things differently and the Greater Manchester Strategy states that Greater Manchester will ‘involve people in the decisions we make and actions we take’. This guidance aims to support this by ensuring direct and first-hand experiences are leading the development of policy, and that those with lived experience truly have a voice in decision-making.
By doing so, we can better challenge inequality by ensuring services and policies are designed to better meet the needs of individuals and communities in Greater Manchester.
