NHS Greater Manchester have limited resources for translation and print and have selected the five languages where there seems to be the greatest demand. This is based on requests they have received, plus data from the 2021 Census on the most spoken languages (other than English) in Greater Manchester.
This clear and accessible publication aims to help people to access the best health service for their needs – and hopefully ease pressure on the NHS.
It tells people all they need to know about primary care services – including some things they may not be familiar with, such as:
- Useful features on the NHS app
- Pharmacy First – get prescription medicines from a pharmacy without a GP appointment
- Help with prescription costs
- Urgent dental and eyecare services – available at evenings and weekends
The booklet comes in a handy pocket size – ideal for quick reference and space saving. An accessible online version in English is available on the NHS Greater Manchester website here
