If you're unsure about your next step, Stand Out is a free one-month online development programme with a year of professional one-to-one mentoring to help you build your network, develop your skills and discover your future career path. It's delivered by two great youth organisations called UpRising and One Million Mentors in partnership with RECLAIM.
The practical programme offers support designed to help you launch your career. This programme will take place from the 4 - 29 October 2021, followed by a year's worth of free mentoring. All sessions will be recorded, meaning you can participate flexibly and around your routine.
Young people will get:
- A supportive, experienced community of professionals and other young people, all focused on helping individuals to stand out in the job market
- Support sessions that can be attended in real time or flexible with recorded content with the team for 4 weeks, including bespoke CV feedback and support on where and how to find job opportunities
- The opportunity to grow their networks and connect with industry experts across Greater Manchester and beyond
- 1-to-1 personalised support from a mentor with experience of the world of work, to help and guide young people to access local opportunities.
To be eligible for the programme, young people must be:
- 18-25 years old
- Based anywhere in England
- Unemployed, in part-time or precarious work, or in their final year of further or higher education, or leaving school, college or university
65% of previous participants are from ethnic minority backgrounds and 57% were the first in their family to go into higher education
