Have you been granted leave to remain through the UK asylum process? Are you confident in speaking English? Have you lived in the UK for 3 years or more? Are you keen to meet new people and use your skills?
The Refugee Transitions Outcomes Fund (RTOF) is a Home Office-funded pilot project delivering integration support to refugees in Greater Manchester, NorthEast England, Plymouth and the West Midlands. Two independent researchers, Helen Baillot and Oonagh O’Brien, are setting up a Refugee Steering Group to inform the project evaluation.
Steering Group members will meet online every six months to discuss the programme, evaluate progress and share their views and those of other refugees living in their area. Full support and training will be provided; and a small payment (called an honorarium) will be made for each meeting. At this time, we would love to hear from people who have experience of the asylum process, have been living in the UK for three years or more, and have some experience of community work, activism or volunteering.
