Spring Online is a campaign which helps thousands of people learn about and use computers, the internet and other modern technology.
This year (22-26 April 2013) the campaign is being delivered in association with Carphone Warehouse.
More than 2,000 free digital taster events are held across the UK each year for Spring Online. The events take place in a wide variety of venues and are run by volunteers: individuals and organisations that are as passionate about digital technology as we are and keen to make a difference in their communities.
Digital Unite Trust in association with Carphone Warehouse is now offering grants of £100 to people and organisations who take part in Spring Online 2013 by holding free digital taster events for their local communities.
There are only a limited number of grants available which will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
Holding a Spring Online digital taster event doesn’t have to actually cost anything, just a bit of your time but it is recognised that for some event holders some extra cash can help make a difference. If your application is successful, the grant will be paid after the event and you could put it towards recouping the costs of the event or for anything that helps you help others get online. For example, the money used can help to buy refreshments, extra Skype handsets or even a subscription to an ancestry website.
It is hoped that by making these grants available many more people across the UK will be helped to understand, use and enjoy digital technology.
