Synergi’s fund will work to support grassroots campaigning at the intersection between abolition, mental health and racial justice.
This fund will be for up to £5,000 to build power and take collective action on mental health and racial justice within an abolitionist framework.
The Small Grants Fund is to support groups led by and for those racialised as BPoC, and have been harmed by/working on:
- The mental health system
- Disability justice
- Racial justice
- Prisons and Policing (including Forensic mental health settings)
- The Immigration System and Detention centres
The fund is radically inviting groups led by communities who are racialised as Black and will ringfence 50% of the funding for these groups.
For this fund Synergi want to encourage applications from Manchester groups, specifically those led by and for:
- Disabled Communities
- Muslim Communities
- Trans and Non-Binary Communities
- Refugees and/or people seeking asylum
- Non-traditional structures (including those that are unregistered)
