Trustee Vacancies at The LGF

18 Dec 2014 - 11:26 by michelle.foster

The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (The LGF) are working hard to ensure that the LGB&T community receive world-class services and support. An important part of that process is making sure that the people of The LGF share that important belief. With that in mind, LGF are currently seeking to recruit new members to their Board of Trustees.

Every year The LGF helps and supports thousands of people, and provides advice and information to many more. Over the last fifteen years The LGF has improved significantly in every respect to the point where they’re now a nationally significant and well respected Charity with an impact that reaches far beyond the Greater Manchester home.

In 2014, LGF took the important decision to encompass the trans* community into their remit. Over the coming weeks and months, the LGF will be carrying out work to identify and create appropriate networks and services to meet the needs of the trans* community.

2015 will undoubtedly be an extremely important year as they work to build on their successes and towards a future that even better meets the needs of their communities. Beyond this, LGF are also currently developing their 10 year vision.

Central to this success will be a refreshed and high performing Board of Trustees who will work together to drive the LGF forward over the coming years and help to secure their excellent reputation and future sustainability. LGF want to be a representative as possible, and are looking to improve the diversity of their Board. LGF are welcoming applicants from the trans* and bisexual communities, women and members of BME communities.

LGF are also seeking highly skilled and senior managers across all sectors who can bring influence and professional knowledge to the organisation in the areas of Finance, Legal and Governance and Legacies and Fundraising.

The LGF is located in the heart of the community and is a much-loved and highly respected organisation that helps and supports over 40,000 people every year. If successful in your application you’ll be joining a strong, successful, highly committed and motivated team of staff, volunteers and trustees.

If you would like an informal chat about this position or any further information, contact David McGovern, on 0797 455 3038.
