The University of Manchester Psychology students seeking project work

8 Oct 2014 - 15:43 by michelle.foster

The University of Manchester School of Psychological Sciences have introduced a module containing a work experience/placement element and they have approximately 220 second year Psychology students seeking projects who are available to complete a minimum of 30 hours of work (paid or unpaid).

The criteria for the work that the student can undertake as part of the placement is very flexible and could for example include several of the following tasks: working with clients in groups or a one-to-one setting, supporting recruitment/HR processes, designing a volunteer or client survey, social media work, organising an event, writing for the web, writing a marketing plan, designing a poster or leaflet, carrying out research and producing a report.

The hours of work and timings of the placements are flexible and will be agreed between the organisation and the student, for example the 30 hours can be spread across a number of weeks from now until April 2015 and/or take place in a block over weekends/university vacation periods etc. The University of Manchester can help shape the project description and provide support with collating CVs and arranging interviews.
